Event Details
This is the first of two weekend long workshops designed for coaches who will be working with athletes in the Training to Train and Learning to Compete stages of the LTAD plan. After at least one season of practical coaching experience, participants will complete the RCA Coach Weekend #2 workshop.
Athletes in these stages will include high school programs, university programs, masters rowers, some younger CSSRA participants and rowers who attend regional competitions.
Modules in the Weekend #1 Workshop include:
· Make Ethical Decisions
· Long Term Athlete Development
· Analyze Performance – Technique
· Analyze Performance – Rigging
· Design a Sport Program
· Movement Screen
· Plan a practice; Safety & Emergency Action Plan; Skill Acquisition and Physical Abilities
· Support to Athletes in Training (Deliver a Practice)
· Support the Competitive Experience (Rules of Racing)
